Day 181

I've been putting off talking about R&R because I realized the other day that all the pictures are of me and Zee. I would love love LOVE to share the photos of the both of us, unfortunately DADT is still in place....

So here are the few I could scrounge together.
(more will be posted once I get them off my phone)

In no particular order:

Me on my horse, Alabama. Zee is directly behind me on Kentucky.
I fussed at first because they told us not to have our cameras out!
But the horses were so mild. Riding was a breeze.

Red Bull and Agwa.
A dangerous and beautiful combination
that resulted in Zee buying a huge-ass knife...

We did some Hillbilly Golfing, which is putt-putt situated on mountainous incline.
And it's, you know, hillbilly-ish.

At the beginning of the Gatlinburg strip,
enjoying all the beautiful blossoms!

More tomorrow! Have a wonderful night! And a Happy Mother's Day!

Day 189

I know, I know, I know.

You probably want to hear all the dish about how our R&R went.

And I will get to it.

Sunday, sound good?

Actually, Sunday is the first day of a new project.

A project I will announce tomorrow.

A project I will need all your encouragement on.

Until then...

TWO THINGS

1. I'm nearing 200 Posts soon.

Two-effing-Hundred

Which means that I'm just getting closer and closer
to being THROUGH with this deployment!

Yessssssssssss.

2. I saw something today that blew me away.

At the McDonald's Drive-Thru Window

(I'm a SUCKAH for their sweet tea)

the Drive-Thru Attendant

was

texting.

Not furtively under the register texting.

No.

In My Face

Texting.

This explains why I had to repeat my order
from the DOLLAR MENU
multiple times.

He left the phone sitting on the window sill.

I was tempted to grab it.

He continued to text while taking the next order.

Leaving me sitting outside.

Needless to say

but I'll say it anyways

I tattled on him at the next window.

I know, I know, I know.

No one likes a tattle tale.

But I don't like being ignored for a text at the Drive-Thru.

Day 191

This morning I watched her dress.

The black sports bra and black Under Armour.

The baggy pants.

Tan short sleeve shirt.

A tan belt cinched around her hips.

Green jacket left unbuttoned.

Black socks tucked her her pants.

Pants tucked into her boots.

Shoe strings wrapped around twice.

Jacket zipped, velcroed, and set in place.

Hair in a bun.

Cap.

With each item covering her nakedness from my sight
I felt the Army was taking her away from me again.

I had to cover my mouth to keep from crying.

Not that it mattered. I didn't succeed.

Yes, bloggy world.

She's gone.

So that means I'm back.

Day 304

I want to kill my brother.

Why?

Because his birthday was yesterday, and he turned the big 21. And he insisted that I drink with him.

Can you imagine why I want to kill him?

Work has been pure torture today. Cross-eyed exhaustion, nausea, sensitivity to smell, and a required homage to the porcelain god.

More birds have died, this time in Louisiana. And this time there are a variety of bird species who have kicked the bucket.

The video I watched on CNN - and have linked - was actually a little upsetting, because they kept playing video of dead birds being ran over by cars and - even worse - little birdies who were near death, just panting on the side of road.

So all the birds are being taken to labs to see what the eff is going on.

Freeeeeaky...

Zee and I have decided on what we're doing for her mid-term leave! And I'm SO SUPER EXCITED!!

We're staying here!

Because of my job, I can't take two weeks off for an international vacation. Instead I'm eking out a very long weekend to spend with my girl. And she had the great idea of going and staying in a cabin!

So we'll take a drive up to Gatlinburg to stay in the mountains, soak in hot tubs, take hikes, and eat delicious food.

I am so excited! Time can't go by fast enough!
